ZION CROSSROADS, Va. - After an expected frost delay on Tuesday morning at Spring Creek Golf Club outside of Charlottesville, Virginia, the 22nd John Kline Championship got underway under clear skies and temperatures that reached a high of 71 on a perfect fall afternoon. Five players posted rounds of par or better on the 2006 Ed Carton design, including Bryan Hancock (Hoschton, Ga.), Dennis Younglove (El Macero, Calif.), and Les Devitt (Concord, Mass.) at even par 72, Stephen Fox (Pinehurst, N.C.) at 1-under 71, and Johnny Blank (Frostburg, Md.) at 2-under 70 for the low round of the day.
Round two tee times will start at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
