MOHNTON, Pa. - LedgeRock Golf Club in Mohnton, Pa. is hosting the 4th National Super Senior Championship for some of the country's finest players over the age of 65. Remnants of tropical storm Ophelia have wreaked havoc on the area, with cold and rainy conditions for both the practice round and round one of competition.
Chip Lutz leads the way after a solid round of even-par 72, which featured two bogeys against two birdies. The local LedgeRock member was the winner of the inaugural National Super Senior Championship in 2020 when the event was held at Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, N.C.
Just one stroke behind Lutz are Hollis Sullivan (Fort Worth, Texas) and Mark Weston (Windermere, Fla.). Rounding out the top five at +2 is 2021 Champion Paul Simson (Raleigh, N.C.) and Gregory Goode (Salina, Kan.). Round two will get underway tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
