COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - The 7th Fall Classic got underway Tuesday in Colorado Springs under beautiful skies at The Club at Flying Horse (North Course). Firm and fast conditions were present on the relatively new layout by Phil Smith. In the Senior Division, Michael Mercier and Jonathan Valuck are tied after each posting rounds of 3-under 69.
Gregory Goode, fresh off a runner-up finish in the National Super Senior Championship, leads the way in the Super Senior Division after his own round of 3-under 69. Goode holds a seven shot lead over Robin Rubrecht.
Sean Forey posted the low round of the day with a 5-under 67, thanks in part to a chip-in eagle on the 14th hole (par 4, 333 yards). He leads the Legend Division by six strokes over George Walker.
