MOHNTON, Pa. - The skies finally cleared on Wednesday after players endured two straight days of cold, rainy weather at LedgeRock Golf Club at the 4th National Super Senior Championship. Temperatures rose after a chilly start and enabled players to shed a few layers of outerwear. Local stalwart Chip Lutz continues to lead the way after following up his opening 72 with a 3-under round of 69, which included four birdies. Lutz's only blemish was the result of a wayward drive on the par-5 finishing hole on the Rees Jones layout. The local member was the winner of the inaugural National Super Senior Championship in 2020 when the event was held at Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, N.C.
Hollis Sullivan (Fort Worth, Texas) and Gregory Goode (Salina, Kan.) are tied for second place at +2 for the tournament. Paul Simson (Raleigh, N.C.) sits in fourth place at +3, while Robert Brooks (West Des Moines, Iowa) rounds out the top five at +4. The final round will get underway tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
